Thanks for the link!! What a nice xmas gift!

Is the installation still the same like any other OS?-install to pc-delete vendor file-then load it up using apploader.

Or do I still need to install the latest OS 5 then upgraded to it?

Do I still need to backup my OS5 service books?

You dont need to install the latest OS 5, you just download and wipe your blackberry handled with BBSAK or another tools. I recommended to shrink (optional but recommended) to reduce the size and remove unused application.

    Recommended to shrink:
    - Any Media (including the original background, ringtones, music and video), you can download the ringtones from the internet and put it on the Media card
    - Any languages except English of course
    - Games (yeah I hate games)
    - Other fonts except Global type, latin true type and european

    Dont shrink original themes

Perfect...I'm going to wipe and do a clean install with this .exe...hopefully it will fix that issue with the applications that take AN ETERNITY to install.

I've just installed this version in my Essex, IMHO nothing special with OS 6 except the graphical user interface (it is more cool than OS 5)

    GPS performance (same with .975)
Browser speed (feels more faster with .975)
Camera (so far, hmmm yes same with .975)
    Multimedia (Music same with .975)
    Batterly life (still tested)
Signal (depend on your coverage area)

Is this worth installing, or should I just wait for a new hybrid? I'm running a .407 hybrid.

Ok set the update to happen while i was sleeping, woke up everything went perfectly. And i love it. Its like a whole new phone all over again. Obviously os 6 takes up a bit more memory than 5 but i dont run a huge number of apps anyway. *knocks on wood** no bugs as of yet, but only time will tell. Universal search is saweet. And the browser. Awesome. I am a happy bb camper again. I was considering a trade for an evo, so glad i didnt especially now.

Yes VZW users can install this. To delete the vender xml file go in to the folder it installs to and find the file that reads Vender.xml and just delete it.

Its pretty smooth running but I haven't been able to load any of my backups on it. Would definitely have appreciated the .exe link at 2:00am when I decided to skip sleep and downgrade to 5.0 so I could upgrade via OTA.

edit: nevermind..working now. just using the apploader instead of dm

I get this message, if you are not on Sprint and are deleteing the vender file so that you can install it, after downloading and deleted vender file unplug from the internet and try loading the OS.
