My wife and I have identical curves (8530), both updated to the latest version (5.0.0.1030). I have been getting my Facebook alerts no problem. My wife cannot. If I go to ring tones/alerts, I have Facebook under "others". On my wifes phone, there is no Facebook listed under "others" or anywhere else for that matter. Anyone know where it is or how I get it there? or how I can get/select ringtones for Facebook?

I have this issue with my Storm as well. Haven't been able to find an answer. Hope someone can help us out.

Try a few battery pulls. it should show up then.

That doesn't offer a solution. It's been a temporary fix. I've deleted, rebooted, installed, rebooted and done multiple battery pulls, but it keeps disappearing from my Profiles. I guess we need to wait for Facebook 2.0.

the best thing i found is to uncheck the facebook notifications in the options menu of the app, save changes.Then close the app, reopen and now check the box, save changes. it worked for me so far dont know how long it will last though
