That price seems very low. Means their wholesale is around $500 or less. If so, then we should see the device retail for cheap. I have a feeling when they get their final prices they will honor the $650US price for those that paid, but jack the price up for those that havent.
About 2 months ago I read an article that stated the expected price to be $250-$350 usd. I think that RIM and our service providers would be smoking crack to expect the customers to spend at the extremel higher price points, given our recent economy. $300-$400? Maybe, but $600-$800? I don't think the sales would be high enough to cover the research an hype.
Why would ANYONE get a phone they're not sure will work on their network? Seriously, that's probably the stupidest thing to waste your money on. Remember, a service provider has to activate that phone. It's only going to be ATT, Rogers, TMO, and Verizon (sometime), or another carrier that's been listed. So, if you do have one of those carriers why the heck would you NOT BUY from them at a HUGELY discounted price???

Talk about wasting money.
I didn't say I wouldn't buy it from VZW. I was just under the assumption that if it was an unlocked phone, then ANY carrier could hook it up. That's all I was wondering. Sheesh!
