While on the BB9700 you could switch to have up to 6 icons per row, on the BB9800 the maximum set is 4 icons per row.

    I went through:

Options>>Accessibility>>Home Screen Grid Layout: (5 Options)

Default, 1 Column, 2 Columns, 3 Columns and 4 columns.

Is there any way, without having to change the original theme, to have more icons on the same row?

Alternatively, is there any suggested theme, same/similar as the original one, but having such a feature?

thanks a lot for your help.

    Not that I have seen.

While there are themes for the 9800, they are all made with buggy software. RIM's Theme Builder is still in Beta for the 9800 and has some bugs. Since all themes are made with this software, they all have the same bugs. I recommend you just bear with it for a little while or purchase a third party launcher program with QuickLaunch or ShortCutMe and assign it to the convenience key.

Networkguy is right, if the options arent there you cant make them up

I dont know why they dont let you, but it might be because the icons are bigger and labelled.
