    Hello,

My situation is that I am pretty sure that I purchased my blackberry 8100 last year on July 9, 2007 from Tmobile for 199.99 and I could have sworn that it was a 1-year contract, NOT a 2-year contract.

I am trying to get my contract canceled with Tmobile and they are telling me that I agreed to a 2-year contract and I think that is false.

Would anyone happen to know how much the 8100 cost last year with Tmobile for 1-year contract and for 2-year contract. I believe that the 2-year contract was 149.99 and the 1-year contract was 199.99.

Many thanks for those that can remember.

Why don't you ask tmo for a copy of your original contract?

I suppose I could. However I dont trust tmo. If anyone could let me know how much they paid for their 8100 last year around summer with tmo, that would help me out much.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Hmm. I think I got mine around $230[after tax & what not]...so it might have been $199.99. =/

I am not sure that is going to be that useful. Price could have been anything, really. Got mine around that time and it was $50.00 with one year a $50 mail in rebate and a $50 gift cert. So they paid me to get the phone. Took a bit for the mail in but it eventually came.

The only way you could really fight this is if you had original paperwork when you purchased the phone.

Cant you still get out of your Tmobile contract because of the price change to text messaging? They are chaning/have changed the contract and this gives you a window to legally get out of it.

Sorry to be mean... but trying to go about your contract this way makes no sense!

Even if you ask us what the price of a Berry was last year with TMobile on a 1 year contract, what does that mean to them?? Nothing!

You need paper evidence or something solid. TMobile will not lie to you, they have all of the transactions in record on a computer! Also, you should keep records of these kinds of things yourself...

Usually a t-mobile contracts are 2 years. I got my Pearl in January for about $100 but i had to sign to a 2 year contract. well wait actually i just remembered that if i wanted a 1 year contract i would have to pay the full amount of the phone which would have been about $200.

Every time I have purchased a new phone through T-mobile I have renewed with a 2 year contract. That is their norm, in my experience.
