Hi, I'll be going to the UK for xmas and I need some information about carrier services there.

I need, to be frank, the cheapest pre paid card that allows me to use BBM and Yahoo Messenger. Email I can always check on my laptop via Wifi and I can't imagine getting any urgent ones these coming weeks.

I was in the UK back in April and the ONLY carrier that offered prepaid BB was Orange.
It was 15 British pounds for unlimited BB with BBM push email etc. (monthly) I bought some extra airtime for calls and txtng in country
A warning though- the customer service was BEYOND terrible and it takes some time before they activate the BB services.
I would recommend that you get someone that is in the UK now to activate a sim card for you. That way for sure it will be up and running when you got there.
I had no issues with reception.
