Okay guys. I know I'm sounding cheap here, but It's free. It will be a perfect Christmas gift for my mother. The only thing I have a question with is this. It is to be said that it will officially get OS6, however it only has 256MB of onboard memory. Would I be better to pay 200.00 for the 9780 when it arrives just so she has os6?

How's it work with only having 256mb memory and not room for any apps?

On my 9330 with OS6 I have around 250MB of free memory for apps.

If I had installed OS 6 on my 9300, I would have about 60Mb free.

OS 6 is a monster, but it is so good. I have about 80 Mb left after all my apps. That will work for me.

Okay. Thanks! I guess it's about like the 9000 running OS 5 basically.

It is totally up to you.

The 9780 is a superior device, better looking screen, better camera and a better keypad.

I would bring your mother in to the store and see how she likes the feel of the phones and go from there.

I have a 9700 now, and I'm running OS 6, and it is definitely not as bad as OS 5 on a 9000, so I would expect that the 9300 would perform similarly.

I agree. It would be nice to let her try both phones and see how she likes them.

I'm afraid to mess up a good thing, my Curve 9300 works perfectly with the OS 5.0. I'll leave well enough alone.

No it is not. The 9330/9300 can handle OS 6 much better than the 9000 can handle OS 5.
