    hi guys,

just wanna ask whenever you enter m.google.com/maps into your default browser, what version do you see available for download? the latest is v4.5.1 but i only see v4.4.0 available to me for download. Is something amiss here?

I'm running on 5.0.0.771 OS on my bold 9000. hope someone here can assist me on this. Thanks in advance.

    regards,
    Stanley

As far as I'm aware, that is the latest version I can download for my 9650.

I was able to download and install 4.5.1 on my 9630 running 5.0.0.732. I don't know any reason why you wouldn't get that version, unless you have your browser set to emulate something other than BlackBerry. If you do, that could be fooling Google into offering the wrong version.

I read somewhere on CrackBerry that 4.5.1 was available for download, but then later removed and Google brought back 4.4.0. Something must've went wrong or buggy with the update.

What device and OS are you using, John? (On wap and can't see.)

Parked's explanation is plausible. His post is the first I've heard of it.

JeffH: Here's the thread to which I was referring. It notes the availability of 4.5.1 and then the revert back to 4.4.0.

4.5.1 had issues and was removed.

I had 4.5.1 but downgraded because the phone button would not launch voice search anymore - it would just bring up the phone.

I noticed that icon, too. Might be a customized app icon. Looked like a small turkey to me. Or, a bald eagle wearing a sombrero.

It's BatteryEx with a custom Turkey skin. My Berry was fully charged when I took that screenshot. 99+ is the highest it goes. The skins can be found in this thread.

I had 4.5.1 from the day it came out (couple weeks ago?), and never had an issue. Then again, I only used a couple times since. I had a bad OS upgrade download and nuked my Torch. Didn't backup my apps, so I guess I'll be getting 4.4 again now!
