I am a complete newbie on BlackBerry OS 6.

I have a BB Pearl 3G running os 5.00748 on WIND mobile Canada. It is currently SIM locked onto their network, and I am not thinking about switching.

I noticed recently a leak of OS 6 came out.

I want to experience OS 6 now, and not later. What are the steps that I must follow to ensure that it will work properly?

I heard some people say things like 'Service Book backups' and 3G not working. How can I prevent this from happening? Also, what is my next step should the update freeze? And, if I don't like it, how do I go back, and restore my old applications on BB os 5?

As a newbie I would do a little more research on here. Here are a couple of good links for you:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/lea...-fixes-545672/

As stated, you have nothing to lose and you can always downgrade. Good Luck.
