it was pretty quick to install the update. was done in about less than 30 mins... no issues while installing or after installing...and so far did not find anything new or changed...!!
if anyone else installs it and finds something cool..please post...
Cool, another upgrade. Glad to see t-mobile still cares about the 8900! Im gonna upgrade mines later tonight through wireless update. Ill let you guys know how it is. But does anyone know why they decided to give out 5.0.0.900? What could be the new features or maybe its just improvements... (900) getting closer to OS6 hahah jk i know we wont get it.
Just got the email. Downloading it now. I think it might address the issues that other folks had with .822; with the phone not ringing and requiring a battery pull and fuzzy pictures.
We are so close to OS6, but alas a dream must stay a dream sometimes.
Using .681 here and its great but would like to know if there are any new enhancements/better stability to .900. Will keep checking back around here to see results. Not going to expect too much as the majority of BB users are no longer on the poor curve 8900 ):

+1. Using .681 as well and love this build so was curious if .900 is pretty good as well

Wireless update successful! Took less than 10 mins. Now using .900 but i dont really notice anything new or different. I didnt even know there was a sound issue going on from what im hearing. So whats the sound issue? Seemed normal to me even with .822! Well an update is an update, im cool with that
Lol. My wireless update took me 2 hours but I had a lot to back up. I don't see anything different but I hope it fixed the voice mail problem. It wouldn't work after a reboot.

If you have the latest Download Manager installed, simply visit BlackBerry - Update your Device Software. It will spin up DM, and at this point you want your BB hooked up. You may also do the OTA method by going to Wireless Update in the Advanced Options Menu.
So far, everything feels the same. It would appear that the trackball is a little more responsive, and I did not encounter the sound and camera issues others had experienced in .822, but I would suspect that .900 fixes the issue.
This OS is more than likely the last ever OS for the Curve 8900. Just to be certain has there been some sort of announcement and or confirmation that the 8900 will not see OS 6?

I don't see the ota option for my 8900- it says no updates are available. Odd
I haven't tried DM yet but everytime I do plug it in to my computer, it wants to install Tmobiles official which is 4.6. Not the newest 5.0...
Advice?
Also what does the camera shutter sound like? On 681 its different than the rest of the builds. Just was curious how it is with 900. I know- superficial question

Did you use the .822 from T-Mobile? I have only used "sanctioned" OSes from T-Mobile, and maybe this is affecting how you are getting the notification to update to 4.6. I was running on the T-Mobile .822 before I made the jump to .900. I was for a time using the .822 from Hutchinson for a bit, but noticed that I could not get the update to T-Mobile's .822; I resorted to doing a wipe and reload to faithful 4.6 before .822 to now .900.
Are you in a position to downgrade to 4.6 and then upgrade to the .900? (I have not come across the actual .exe download so that you can use the apploader, delete vendor.xml method).
As for the shutter sound, I can honestly say that I never paid attention to it It sounds like my old Pearl 8100 (if my memory hasn't faded).
I updated from .681 just fine thru DM, so the idea that a non-sanctioned non-T-mobile OS is the problem can't be it... Are you sure you have the latest DM? Mine had to install a component before I could update.
I did mine this morning and it took about an hour, and so far I don't notice any differences between this and .681.

That might have been the case with a outdated DM. Well, I'm out of ideas.
