can someone list the major differences between those 2 devices ?

The 9780 is a 'refresh' of the 9700, with a better camera module, double the RAM, and runs OS 6 out of the box... That's it!

The only other differences are cosmetic, ie black bezel and black keypad frets.

So are there rumors that a completely new Bold will be released until Summer 2011 ?

When you create a new topic, like 5 others pop up, showing you similar topics that were talked about. Those are the only differences.

I dont know what rumor you are talking about, but this BOLD 9780 is most likely the bold you are thinking of. It will replace the 9700.

As of now, no other Bold information has been released.

They are talking about the Dakota/Magnum/Onyx3. There's no solid info on it other than it was being developed. Someone in a another forum said their friend who works at RIM has seen it. Not much help there. As the 9780 is not HSPA+ for TMO US, I am on the fence. I might buy it off contract and wait it out...

the only reason the 9780 exists is because the 6.0 os needs more resources and RIM can not compete with out it.

512 RAM is the number one reason to power the OS 6
the CPU has not changed.

Camera is a throw in .. extra lol

I'm also hearing that the processor they used is a "new chip" but underclocked to 624 MHz

RIM should of just gave everybody with a 9700 a free new memory card lol
