    The att store on 5th ave btwn 41 and 42nd st in nyc told me they do not have any 9700 in stock and they will never be getting them in stock. But he gave no reason

    I've seen a lot of people mention that 9700 had been removed from 9700 stores but has it been the same for T-Mobile?

    because the 9780 is a refresh from the 9700 and that if AT&T is not featuring the 9700 in their stores it means a 9780 release is imminent

    There were 9700s at the Gallery Place store in DC...."Plenty" of them, according to the woman I spoke to...

    TRY AT&T online.. if you can still order the 9700, it means they still carry it..
    by the time you can't, then that's the time you can speculate about the release of the 9780.
    same scenario happened with the Bold 9000 a few months ago..

    to build on what alot of people have said, i visited two seperate AT&T stores here in MA today and both were out of the 9700, and the two reps (yeah I know, not alot of stock in what alot of them have to say/know) did confirm a new device on the way, and continuously tried to push the Torch down my throat lol. No thanks for now. Let's hope it comes out in Nov for sure!
