This method here, http://forum.androidcentral.com/fasc...-how-root.html, really is easy, Trendy. The other day when I royally screwed my phone, I had to restore, reroot, etc, and I used that method. It was a breeze.
Not to sure what this means lol. Anyone want to explain this to an android noob. I just purchased a fascinate does this mean froyo will be coming to it soon.

Since Android is Open Source, Meaning they should release the ROM to the public, which they did / in this case.
Now it's up to custom ROM builders/hackers/modders to take that code and create their own custom ROM.s
the long and short of it... before any carrier can release the coding, and long after they stopped caring about the device...
we can still update and stay fresh....
When someone mentions XDA and/or Cyanogen... those are two web forums created and dedicated to the building of custom ROMs. XDA does have a greater variety of phone present, but Cyanogen builds the better ROMs w/o question.
