I bought myself and my fiancee a torch and i have upgraded mine to the .246 leak...so i was playing with hers last night and kept seeing the lil clock pop up...well she was running everything basicly and it was still doing pretty good to be running so many apps...so i close all the ones shes not using out and keep playing with it...and i noticed that there is a bit of a lag unlike mine. not terrible but once u get used to a certain thing it is noticable. its not as quick and snappy i guess is the word im lookin for. on the other hand im lovin mine even more since the update...just my 2 cents

def worth the upgrade make ur device a lot snappier I don't experience any lag anymore...haven't gone to .246 yet though, i've read it has a slight bit of battery drain over .225 but can't speak from experience so not going to say .225 is better or worse...there are a lot of leaks comming out i am starting to do an update every second leak now

The link is in Jefferi's signature, and yes you will have to borrow a friend's laptop or desktop because the software is not compatible with Macs. Others can give you more information on this.

Uhh...not that I know of. Usually a new leak is provided on the home page of crackberry.com. I don't know of .278, just .246 Unless they just Leaked A New one which I wouldn't be surprised since it looks like they come out every week.

Anyone know what advantage 246 has over 214? 214 is much faster than 141, no doubt. But before I run to 246, I wonder if it is worth it. Anyone?

    Thanks,

That's hard to say as there are no change logs...however...

.225 came after .214 and was the same platform - i.e. the same thing except it had a few bug fixes.

.246 came next and as far as I can tell, it's pretty much the same as .225. There are conflicting reports of some things fixed and some things worse but nothing that has affected me.

For specifics you'd have to read the threads.

Thanks jeffreii! That is what I expected. I think I will wait. I have the BIS problem, but I can work around it. And I agree with everyone else that the 2xx series is leaps and bounds better than 141.

I've been running the .246 version for 48 hours . . . So far so good, no WiFi / BIS issues or battery drain. I was on the stock rom before and this one is definitely much faster and stable imo.

What's your battery life like on .246?
And are you a light/mod/heavy user?

    Thx!

I'm a moderate to heavy user and have been using the Torch for about 2 weeks now, so far I haven't had it go into the red not once. Though I usually have about 30% of battery power left at the end of the day. . . . One charge a day is sufficient for me.
