i did that as i was having issues with it dropping bis services, now nothing wants to work. yahoo, facebook, nothing. any suggestions or do you have the original settings to turn apn back on?

Congrats on the 9800. The keyboard takes a little getting used to, but you'll be just fine. Enjoy. )

if you're coming from a previous blackberry or another smartphone..
you need to call AT&T service department and have the device activated for BIS/BES

Weird, every single thing should not be relying on the apn... Did you try resending the service books and re-registering the device on the Host Routing Table?

You will find the versatility of the touchscreen, trackpad and physical keyboard to be such a boost that you will wonder why you waited so long.

If you want APN back to the way it was, just go back to the screen where you disabled it and hit the BB key and then Reset to Defaults. All back to how it was

I also like the ability to hover on the touchscreen to access BB Full Menu, Switch Apps, etc. to be so handy that I can minimize using the actual buttons next to the trackpad.

i'm sitting on os.141 i think. is .214 or higher worth putting on? i'm seeing that it is and gets rid of some bugs like the tinny feedback when on the phone. are there no more official sticky threads with the latest updates?

you definatly need to upgrade the OS to .225. the stock os is crap.. look in the "OS beta/hybrid discussion" section on these forums for the links and how too's on how to do it.. very simple and well worth the upgrade..

Enjoy the torch and welcome to the club

    P.S.
if u notice the sticky for the "official" OS is .141.. what your on.. all the recent OS's are just beta releases but fix alot of the small issues the phone has on .141

Definitely install .246 as soon as possible - it makes a big difference. .225 is good too - same as .246 for me so far.

But, you may want to wait and see if a new release is out Monday, as has been the case recently :-)
