I tried to install Opera Mini on my BB Pearl today and it would not load. I did go to TCP in options and type in the voicestream part for the APN (using T-Mobile)
Do I want to have this on the phone?
If so, what am I not doing?

Yes you want Opera Mini, and mine has been acting up the same way for the past week or so. I have to use the lame browser they give you.

I have not been able to fully load it on the phone so far.
I must be missing a step.

Maybe it is a T-Mobile issue. It runs through the entire 20 step connection process. Then is says it filed to connect to the internet. Go to help with your desktop browser.

I don't think that it is a t-mobile problem, cuz i'm having the same problem with att.

That TMobile and other carriers as well, block the port that Mini opera uses for connectivity. Anyone know how to "unbrand" the 8100? Not unlock, but to actually remove the Tmobile firmware?

I had the same problem after updating the BB os on t-mobile. Easy solution on the operamini faq page. Search the page for t-mobile.

What I'd like to know is how to get back the list of applications instead of the incredibly annoying screen full of icons.

just wanna say that miniopera sucks... why is it still beta? ha... but yeah the reason is cuz sometimes i'll try to load a page and it will shut down the browser saying something about javascript and blahblah... it's really annoying they need to fix that.. haha i like the browser that comes with it better
