I've noticed for a while now that the entire site lags, whether its in the forums or the blogs. I don't know how much this helps, but I've noticed that it always hangs when loading content from one particular place. Whenever it hangs (which is anytime I change or refresh pages....and I mean ANYTIME), it always has this message in my status bar: "Waiting for a.collective-media.net".
This is frustrating to say the least, and it happens no matter what computer I'm on. I remember pages loading up on 56k dial up faster than this.....
Hope this helps isolate the problem at least a little....
