Hey all... I have3 a Telus 8330, i freely admit to not knowing much about network stuff, EV?? anyway my question is will an os 5 ever be available for my phone?..seems the coolest apps and themes these days need a minimum of os 5. Or will I just have to tuff it out until my contract runs out. I had seen one thread on here about an os5 for one type of 8330 but not sure if mine fits. Also, anyone know if the torch will be coming to telus?..can't wait to get my hands on that number...i"ve done the apple thing....Iwhat?....i'm a BB addict for life!

You can load the Boost Mobile released OS. Telus is likely not going to release it.

As long as you have a backup, including a backup of your third party apps

there isn't much risk involved, as long as you don't trip over the usb cable during the OS loading operation, or disconnect the usb cable because it "seems" to be stuck. Don't disconnect your usb cable unless you get a message that says the operation is complete/successful, or an error message.

Also, realize that whenever you load an OS that isn't from your carrier, you MUST remove the vendor.xml file or the OS will not be detected by Application Loader/Loader.exe.
