- Has anyone tried RSA SecurID soft tokens on this device yet?
We use these in our company, so this would be a current dealbreaker if the software didn't work on OS6/Torch at the present time.
Still sitting on the fence - love a lot of the features of the new Torch, but equally love my 9700, and am a bit concerned by some of the underwhelming reviews. However, I'd still like to try one.
The RSA piece could be the last bit in the puzzle as it's essential that we can run this software to access our corp email remotely from other desktops.
Many thanks in advance,08-15-10 04:36 PMLike 0 - I got the latest version to load on my device. The "Enter Your PIN" screen comes up just fine. Once you enter your PIN and tell it to get a passcode, the next screen is completely blank (solid white). I'm sure RSA will fix this in the next release - but for now - it does not work.08-15-10 07:46 PMLike 0
- Ok. Thanks - that's helpful. I should hold off a little then.
One problem with RIM holding back the SDK for developers until the last minute...

I'm afraid I don't know.
I have the latest OTA RSA client on my handset, and then we are emailed tokens by our IT folk. However, I am not sure what system they have going at the moment.
I have had it working fine on Storm2 and also Bold 9700. However, both running OS 5.
It's precisely for stuff like this that RIM should have released a SDK earlier so that developers could have had the opportunity to bring their apps up to date.08-16-10 03:43 AMLike 0 - While the screen is blank, press the trackpad or BlackBerry key and select Copy Code... paste it somewhere else to see the passcode, like in a new email. I know that solution is not a solution, but if you are desperate that is the only solution I found.08-16-10 05:03 PMLike 0

<sigh> From your mouth to the ears of the Powers That Be at RIM!
RSA, aka the security division of EMC, last week acknowledged that the BB Torch (9800), with RIM OS 6.0.0.141, is not compatible with the RSA SecurID token-emulation app widely used on other Blackberry phones. An unexpected conflict affects versions 3.0.x and 3.5.0 of the RSA application. As others here have noted, users are able to import tokens but are unable to generate a SecurID "passcode."
RSA's SecurID product manager Phil Darringer told an EMC Labs forum <https://community.emc.com/message/494562> that RSA is developing a new version (v 3.5.1) of the RSA SecurID application to address changes in RIM's OS 6.
Darringer said that RSA is pushing to release v 3.5.1 of the SecurID app as a hotfix by mid-September, but that hotfix will be fully tested and QA qualified only for the Blackberry Torch running RIM OS 6.0.0.141.
"RSA will need additional time to qualify 3.5.1 on all the RIM OS versions that are currently supported by version 3.5.0," he explained. "Once RSA has completed this second phase of qualification, 3.5.1 will replace 3.5.0 on the RSA website as the currently shipping version."
RSA said it had not yet developed a schedule for the release of the fully-qualified v 3.5.1 code for other RIM OS versions. (For a complete list of the RIM OS versions now supported by version 3.5.0 of the SecurID app, see: RIM BlackBerry OS Supported Versions <http://rsa.com/node.aspx?id=3570> )
Version 3.5.1 of the RSA SecurID app will support a migration from either RSA's version 3.0.x or version 3.5.0 to the newest SecurID code, added Darringer, but RSA has no plans to upgrade the older SecurID app, version 3.0.x, to support Blackberry OS 6.
I hope I'm not bothering anyone by double-posting this note. I tossed it into another relevant thread yesterday. I've been a consultant to RSA for many years, but go to the vendor if you need more details.
_Vin08-25-10 11:09 AMLike 0 - I can confirm that RSA (3.0.2 and 3.5.0) does not work at the moment on OS6 for 9780 - it freezes at the PIN stage.09-14-10 09:19 AMLike 0

- RSA has released the Torch hotfix, SecurID Soft Token 3.5.1, OTA install at http://rsa.com/torchhotfix
Once it's been tested and verified for other handhelds it will be released as 3.5.1, but for now it's considered Torch-specific. It works fine on my 9650 running BlackBerry 6.09-20-10 09:55 AMLike 0 -
- I was having the same issues with RSA 3.5 on a new Curve 9300. I could import the token however it wouldnt let me get the passcode. I could copy the passcode and paste into an email however I figured I would try the torch version 3.5.1.
I downloaded it and it is now working. So it appears this problem is not just related to the torch or version 6 of the handheld code as this BB is running OS version 5.0.0.84609-22-10 10:43 AMLike 0 -
