Is anyone else having an issue with selecting text to copy and paste with the new bbm released within the past few days? I downloaded the small version from the bb website the other day and couldnt select text I had sent so I tried downloading the larger file from app world today and still no luck

Doesn't work. Didn't work in previous beta either. Hopefully they will fix it in next release. From my understanding, only affects Storm devices.

I've had it work, but only by selecting BBKey> Select, then dragging, etc. to bring up the menu. Can't simply double tap to pull up the selecting bars.

even that doesn't work on mine. i've yet to discover any way to copy just a piece of chat. i can only copy/paste the entire chat

Correct. You can copy what you're typing with the BB key as mentioned, but previous parts of the conversation can't be copied like we use to be able to. I believe that issue was reported many times in the Beta feedback, but for some reason they didn't fix it.

It's an issue that RIM is aware of. I can't say anything beyond that.

Same problem with mine... The only way es to select "send chat via email" and then select the piece of the chat you want to copy.... It is realy annoying !!!
