Got mine yesterday. Used cellunlock. Using it on Fido. Cellunlock got me my code in a few mins. And they have a 50 percent off coupon for crackberry.com. It only cost 7.49 can. It works perfect.

Ok i got the phone today did the drive to buffalo Radio shak for $599 wish it was a bit cheaper but still better than what rogers is going to offer. I sent off for the unlock code cost me $6.30 from horizon and once thats done ill really get in her.
got mine on launch day Aug 12th at 9am ... was out of the store by 9:10 am with 2 9800's.. got em from Buffalo... i got my wife to be an authorized user on her dad's AT&T account..
no problems!! $499 outright! went to denny's near by, had free wifi, opened her up, browsed to cellunlock.net, ordered my unlock code and it was unlocked by 10am...
but was in Ohio for the past 3 days so havent used it with data till today.. awesome... love it!!
On Rogers 3G, everything works including Caller ID for people not in your phone book

I got a 9800 and unlocked it but for some reason the tethering option on the new desktop manager ( yes it is blackberry desktop 6 ) i went back to my 9700 to see if it was a desktop issue but the button appaered but for some reason not on my 9800 . i tether ALOT and it iis a main way i run my world . any ideas ?
so wait you guys are getting 3G speeds on the 9800 even though its not a rogers phone?
then how come the blackberry 9650 if you unlock and use on rogers it gives only EDGE speed? or is this not true?
The 96xx (and 9530/9550) devices were marketed as 3G World Phones primarily for the North American CDMA carriers. So as to avoid people buying the phone and then bringing it over to competing GSM carriers, only the 2100mhz is available for HSPA 3G, which means it'll only work on overseas carriers, otherwise it'll be EDGE speeds for GSM based carriers. In North America, that pretty much leaves CDMA EVDO carriers if you want 3G speeds.

I'm having the exact the same issue. It driving me crazy. I previously had the curve 8900 and was able to tether thru the Desktop Manager version 6 with no problem at all. I just recently bought the Torch, unlocked it, and connected it to Desktop Manager 6 expecting to be able to tether however I no longer see the option to tether on the bottom left corner of DM6. I can't seem to find any info on any forums. Please let me know if you receive any information on this subject. I'm new to crackberry.com, so I apologize in advance if I replied to this post incorrectly. Thanks
