I'm Canadian, but lived in the US a few years ago. I still have my SS and US Credit card linked to a friends house in the US. Say I go in to an AT & T store, buy the Torch on contract, stay in the States for my vacation and then return to Canada. I call AT &T and say I MOVED to Canada and would like to cancel my contract. I did this when we moved from Texas to Canada and I had to cancel my Verizon contract. They let me off with no cancellation fee when I faxed in my Canadian drivers license and utility bill, which to them was proof I really did move. Just repeating the steps I did before, but this time, I'll pick it up while on vacation. Should avoid the $325 cancellation fee, no?
-.- or you could just buy the phone at regular price
I could, but this way, I could get it for $99 dollars online, with overnight shipping and then follow my plan. It worked for Verizon. Is AT&T any worse for cancelling a contract?
