    Turn on wireless coverage notification

    1. In the device options, click Screen/Keyboard.
    2. Set the LED Coverage Indicator field to On.
    3. Press the Menu key.
    4. Click Save.

When your BlackBerry device is connected to the wireless network, the LED light flashes green.

Base model BB like 9300 or 8500 series do not come with a flash, Bold series does so if its an issue get a 9700 or similar

Thanks for posting pics! looks nice... Is the back made out of plastic with like a rubber grip? Also is the trackpad flush/equivalent with the other buttons or is it sticking up just a little bit?

This phone is confusing to me. My 8900 has a flash, yet this is a 9300 which in my mind means the higher the number the more feature content it should have. I can understand the 8520 not having a flash, but when you upgrade from 8900 to 9300 I think it should have improved hardware/software.

    Strange.

I'd also like to know if the back is rubberized. Anyone know if the 9300 battery cover will fit on an 8530? I hate the glossy back on my 8530.

I hear you, I love the looks of the 9300 and it would have replaced my 8900, had it -at least- the same camera/flash module (which is great) and the same screen resolution. Unfortunately I feel going the 9300 route from the 8900 would be a step backwards. I guess we can have a better Curve once the Bold gets better, with the 9780. Currently releasing the 9300 with the same camera and screen as the 8900 would make it a direct competitor for the 9700, I guess. Too bad, though when the 9780 gets released it should make room for a better Curve, hopefully.

I heard that the 9300 might be coming to Sprint. I love my Tour, but I've heard some people really love their Curves!

Could you please explain what is better with the 9300's keyboard ? It looks pretty much the same as the 8900.

I got mine monday. They are out in canada on the bell network for sure. And I believe rogers and telus have them as well
The only thing I was disappointed about was that I was expecting this to run on os6, but I'm still running on 5. Rrr. Anyone heard if 6 will be available for 9300 users soon?

It will be. They aren't being released with OS6 quite yet, but from surfing around the forums it will be. Just like the 9700 and 9650 will be running on OS6 but if you go and buy a brand new one off the shelf, it will be 5.0.xxx

9300 wasn't launched with OS 6 because the Torch 9800 hasn't been released to Canada yet which is supposed to be the first Blackberry with OS 6. Since RIM decided to let Canada have first dibs on the 9300, they released it with 5.0.0.832 because it doesn't make sense to release a lower graded bb with a higher OS when the Torch isn't out yet.

I'm surprised this is my first post in this section because I actually got the 9300 a few weeks ago. It is EXACTLY like the Curve 85xx but with 3G and GPS...nothing else special. It's somewhat of an upgrade for me since I was previously using an 8900 as well but the lack of the screen resolution and flash still makes the phone not that much superior. I got the phone for free so I can't really complain but if I had a choice for a 3G bb, I'd rather the 9700. Oh...don't worry....I plan on getting my hands on an 9800 once it's released by Rogers.

To answer your question yes. The housing of the 9300 is exactly the same but with a silver bezel. The backing feels really nice. Like you don't have to be toooo careful with the phone. Nice grip. I love it. Even though I ended up getting like 5 different coloured silicone cases to cover it up because I'm a girl like that lol.

Don't forget the 9300 also has the 624Mhz processor like in the Bold 9700/Torch 9800. The 85xx series only had like a 512Mhz processor.
