When I go into Music, Pictures or Video I get "Media Services are not available.
You need to turn on mass storage mode from the connected Blackberry device to use this feature."
On my BB 9700 I already have this turned on in Options - Memory:
Compression: Enabled
Media Card Support: On
Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected: Prompt
Any idea what else I should do enable the media services?
Okay, so this might not be THE answer, but it is AN answer. I spent all day on the web, and went though tech support, only to take it to the store to find out ... ... that my memory card was not pushed in.
The bold 9700, and perhaps others, has their memory card slot where the old curve release button was. It is very easy to make the card come out. Once I had the nice man at the store push it back in this problem went away.
I have an 8530 with no media card an I can't export the photos I have on it. I was able to do this with an earlier version of Desktop Manager, but now...nothing.
I have Media Card Support ON, as well as MTP and Mass storage mode support.
I've been emailing myself the photos, but it's a pain.
its an easy fix. do what I did. go back to version 5 with media manager and let rim take a year or two to figure out that they might of forgot something. I read nothing but errors and complaints about DM6 in this forum. version 5 works fine so just stay with that.
Worked like a Charm. I was a little confused when a DOS like window popped up. But I guess thats what you meant by saying "a Window" pops up. I was expecting a blackberry desktop software window.
But now it works great. I hope it works for my MAC now.
