I'm contemplating switching from a Storm 2 to a Droid X. My question is about custom ringtones. I know I can assign them when a specific contact CALLS, but what about when they text?
I rarely actually TALK on my phone too much, I text more than anything & having custom contact ringtones when I get a text is more desirable, for sure. Anybody know?
your should be able to assign ringtones for the droid x for sms,contacts,email etc i have a captivate and it took me alittle while to figure out how to assign different tones for my sms,email,gtalk etc...
I haven't been able to figure out how to make the ringtone work entirely for a contact. It works when they call, but when they text it's the generic ringtone you've specified for text. There's probably a way around it but being new to Android, I haven't found it yet. However, LOVE my Droid X!!!
