Got an update from RIM today and when I plugged in my device to the desktop manger was given a notice about an update. I think it is finally official, though fm which carrier I'm not sure. I have a screen capture, but don't know how to upload it here, so will use the attachment feature.

Wrong forum dude, post it here instead http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/, and I believe there already is a thread (or 10) existing.

    Search function helps too.

If .862 has gone official as the poster suspects, then this is the right forum... dude

TELUS doesn't have that release yet. But F them lol, Googling.... 5.0.0.862 official release - Google Search

Says it's not official. So take chances. it might've been a DM glitch unknowingly discovered that offered up the not-to-be-released-yet OS 5.0.0.862.

Coming from someone has only 18 posts to his name to someone with 2,915. I think he knows what he is doing and doesn't need your help. I think he was just saying that he couldn't download it through the DM not that he doesn't know how to do it any other way!

    I'm already running .862

All I was saying was that .862 is not showing yet on the RIM download site for Vodafone DE... https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...374C8919D2074E

It's still showing .656 as their latest official OS.

I didn't realise that the link for .862 is posted on their website instead.

Locking/Unlocking the device is a futility in .862. However, it IS markedly faster.

.862 sucks here. Locking the device no longer works. I mean, I can "lock" it but the password doesn't get prompted for upon unlock. Really lame build IMO. I'll stick with .770 or w/e.
LOL. The lock function in .862 works exactly the same as it does in .770
