I am currently running OS 4.6.0.304 on my BB Bold 9000. Is there really any advantage to upgrading to 5.0????? I am with AT&T and checking the wireless update, I get the mssg that there are no updates available, so is there anything to be gained by moving to 5.0?????? Thank, Mark

The advantage would be that you would feel you had an entirely new phone.
Highly recommend an upgrade.

Do not use the ATT OTA method ... it is not up to date with the current OS.

For me the biggest advantage is that the phone call clarity is much better. There are some changes to text message threads that some people like. Those changes are not my cup of tea, but I can live with them. Fast start up and reboot after battery pull. Browser is also much faster.

Downside - 5.0 is a battery vampire. Also, some quirky things go on with sounds and alarms. Serious memory leak with .681 but this seems to have been fixed with .822 . There may be compatibility issues with themes that were programmed for 4.6 OS.

All things considered updating to 5.0 works for me.

i definitely recommend upgrading to 5.0. the OS is much faster and like stated above, you get the threaded SMS.

Hi guys need a little help with this one. I have downloaded and installed the Hutchinson version of 5 , the problem is i cannot find it in the location suggested on the "c" drive to enable me to remove the vendor file.
