I'm downloading it now. I will wait a bit to see what kind of feedback it receives... I am impatient though, so that might last all of half an hour! haha

Everything I've read says Tour and Bold OS are not interchangeable. Trackball vs Trackpad for starters.

Thread title changed and thread stickied!

EDIT: Co-thread credits to BrianM23 who also posted an 810 thread at the same time, but I decided to use this one because you all posted the responces here, BUT both threads had the same time, so they get co credits for the info. Plus it's been on our front page for a bit too, so credits to CB as well.

Why would Alltel release this? They don't even offer the 9650?

For those of you who would like to get rid of the crab in the OS as me use BBHybrids Tool by Lyricidal

    BBHybrids Tool

This tool will also take care of the Vendor.xml as well.

If you happened to notice a few months back, there were releases for the Bold OS that came out well before Verizon and/or Sprint even announced the phone, let alone released it. Just because it's not out for the general public doesn't mean it's not being tested.

    ETA:

    For example: http://forums.crackberry.com/f172/ne...sprint-467240/

Notice the date on the thread here...WELL before the phone was announced or released.

Installing a fresh OS will require some time to settle. Just do some battery pulls and wait at least a day or two. then see how that act.

I just installed it with the rest of my apps and restored my setting. I had no problem at all.

My blackberry gained 2 more bars on the sprint network. also it feels snappy so far. battery is dropping fast but this is normal since this is a fresh installation so time will tell.

Aren't the remainder of the Alltel stores going to ATT...or is the brand still alive? In any case, looking forward to reading about the stability of this OS before I try it.

If I was paranoid, I'd be thinking this is an ATT trojan horse.

I guess the main question is how is the radio and how is battery life. I am not a fan of .732 but I am running a pretty nice hybrid on my phone right now, so the question is, is this new .810 radio worth it?

I'm getting CRAZY signal (pegged at -81 to -82db). In my area it's not unusual to have 1-2 bars of service and/or -105db signal.

Seems a bit faster (after the obligatory battery pulls).

Had to reinstall Facebook (uninstalled 1.8, reboot, reinstalled 1.7, reinstalled 1.8, reboot)

Had to re-register/Host Routing Table push

    Speedtest Max Speed = 1624Kbps (3G), 2580Kbps (Wi-Fi). Seems more "bursty" than 732.
