I have been having problems logging into Facebook from my 8900. it keeps saying "a connection cannot be established to the Facebook server"
does anyone have the same problems?
I have tried rebooting three times. it gets to "getting calendar events" and then back to "contacting facebook" and then it just disconnects.
oh, and I just installed OS 5.0.0.822.
think it might have something to do with it?
wow thats shocking for me, coz i logged in from my 9700 seems to be all good, got notifications and all works fine on the facebook...
i think the os 5.0.0.822 had something wrong with facebook... i'm pretty sure since all day long i tried to connect to facebook and it keep saying error connection... sucks hey, i love the battery coz its better than the 681, but RIM must fix that little bug...

could be, but there are numerous thread and each asks "anyone else?" It works fine on my 9650, but I haven't tried the new OS update released today.
weird...I dont know if it's becuase I had wiped my 8900 before doing the OS upgrade from tmos old 4.6 to the newest .822, but the facebook app works perfectly fine for me.
I installed 822 last night on my 8900 -- working great. I now have 2 Facebook icons. When I click one of them, I simply wind up back on this browser page. When I click the other it works fine, logging into FB and working well.
I checked Applications / Add-On, and there's only one entry for FB, and that's version 1.7.0.22. Working very nicely here, and that's over a UMA / wifi connection.

BTW: no idea re: 2nd icon -- will probably just hide it. Don't want to risk deleting, as it might uninstall the working version...

wow... sounds good on your device Jon.. have you tried over the BIS/BES?
I'm on BIS -- no BES currently. I was able to us it on BIS today -- seemed perfectly normal -- still working. Only oddity was the second FB icon I mentioned before. No idea why it's there, and "applications" only shows the one version of FB installed. I've hidden the extra icon and it certainly doesn't seem to hurt anything.
