I just did and didn't have a problem. This is one of those times a reboot might help.

I have tried rebooting three times. it gets to "getting calendar events" and then back to "contacting facebook" and then it just disconnects.
oh, and I just installed OS 5.0.0.822.
think it might have something to do with it?

It's a facebook problem. We just have to wait it out and use the mobile site in the meantime.

i think the os 5.0.0.822 had something wrong with facebook... i'm pretty sure since all day long i tried to connect to facebook and it keep saying error connection... sucks hey, i love the battery coz its better than the 681, but RIM must fix that little bug...

I'm on a Tour, with OS 5.0.0.732 so I doubt it's an OS bug.

That doesn't really fix it, it's a way around it. Think there's a reason why RIM keeps removing it from the web?

I installed 822 last night on my 8900 -- working great. I now have 2 Facebook icons. When I click one of them, I simply wind up back on this browser page. When I click the other it works fine, logging into FB and working well.

I checked Applications / Add-On, and there's only one entry for FB, and that's version 1.7.0.22. Working very nicely here, and that's over a UMA / wifi connection.

BTW: no idea re: 2nd icon -- will probably just hide it. Don't want to risk deleting, as it might uninstall the working version...

I'm on BIS -- no BES currently. I was able to us it on BIS today -- seemed perfectly normal -- still working. Only oddity was the second FB icon I mentioned before. No idea why it's there, and "applications" only shows the one version of FB installed. I've hidden the extra icon and it certainly doesn't seem to hurt anything.
