I have the standard 2g memory that can with my Tour. When Internet browsing, I can't download anything over 40mb. Could I download bigger files with a bigger memory card?

Nope. The limitation is not because of the space available.

You might try the Bolt Browser or Opera Mini.

Use Opera Mini and go into the options and set the connection to HTTP from Socket and you can download whatever you want. It's dumb I know.

I downloaded Opera Mini and switched to http, tried to download and a message popped up saying I didn't have enough disk space. Is that the phone memory or what?

Make sure you save to the SD card.

Yeah save to SD card not device memory, I don't think I've ever seen that message.

This is limited by your carrier/their service books they provide you with. You would have to change settings in there to allow bigger downloads. I know it's possible but don't know how to do it/have never tried. Plus, 40mb+ is a huge file for this small, limited mobile processor to have to play with anyway.
