If anyone knows of an app like this I'd really love to know. I just switched from sprint to verizon and refuse to pay a monthly subscription for navigation.

I'd like to have an app where I can search for something like McDonalds (or even better french fries) and have it find all the places within so many miles. Then I'd like to be able to click on it and give me turn by turn directions WITH VOICE. I know about Where and its perfect except for the lack of voice nav.

Poynt by itself doesn't have voice nav, but you can use it with Telenav. Poynt integrates Telenav nicely. Telenav has a 30-day free trial, so you can decide if it's worth the cost.

Try LifeInPocket. Free voice GPS. Have never tried searching for restaurants on there. I generally know the address I'm heading to.
