Just curious as to what constitutes a "full battery discharge" especially with a new battery during the first several discharges? Thanks to all in advance.

Run it down at least to the point where it turns off your wireless connections.

Lithium Ion batteries like the one in your Droid do not require conditioning. In fact, running them down low too often degrades their long term performance.

If you are looking to recalibrate your battery you need to run it until it shuts down. It will actually power off.
You then need to charge to 100%.
    Then wipe your battery stats.
Not sure if you can wipe stats without being rooted or not.

You don't need to do this at all. You'll waste your time and not only that, actually lessen your battery's potential.
