This is a link for the Willyboy OS 6.0 Hybrid you all have been talking about. It is uploaded to Rapidshare and will be available for 10 times for download. If someone could download and reupload elsewhere for the rest of the CB community that would be great. I am installing now and will let you know what I think.
By sharing this, you are a giant ****. These hybrids were provided to the driphter.com VIP members. The VIP that provided this is subject banning per dcom policy.
Found it buried in Google results on a Chinese website, downloaded it over a super slow connection and reuploaded for whoever wants it, if you don't I don't care.
FWIW willyboy and driphter lay claim to what? An OS that is not theirs to begin with. Now I have no problem with people asking for donations for their work, but making people pay for something you "cooked" nope. Now if they took half of their money and sent it to RIM then ok.
You may not print, distribute or modify the Software, in whole or in part. You may not copy, reproduce or in any other manner duplicate theSoftware, except as authorized in this Agreement or in a separate written agreement between You and RIM.
You will probably see this next hybrid as I helped willyboy set this up last night - enjoy!
Well, I'm not a VIP member, and I've never minded the wait in between VIP and Public release... actually, I usually prefer it as the VIP's tend to iron out any remaining issues. Heh heh.
Step 1: RIM, the creator of our BlackBerry OS, gets their work-in-progress builds leaked out. We share and spread them, despite places like RapidShare sometimes removing them for copyright issue. Everyone cheers on and congratulates the people who find and distribute them, since we all benefit.
Step 2: People take those leaks, shove them in a blender to achieve (questionably / marginally) better performance, then act like the results are their own proprietary intellectual property- actually getting upset when they are spread without a fee being paid, and flaming those who dare share freely.
I doubt I'm the only one finding this scenario amusing. Despite some people's protestations, it's obvious that, as usual...
Step 3 = PROFIT!!
I personally don't think that 20-ish unnamed OS6 files included for "stability" is worth this much grief. Did I miss something in OS5 which makes it unstable? All the latest builds have worked great for me. When we can incorporate some OS6 GUI or functionality, then you've got my attention. Until then, it's all just buzzwords.
