Maybe he assigns his own version numbers to his hybrids???? Any VIP members here that can confirm or refute this?

IMO, some one will leak it, and it will go free shortly there after...if its been leaked out and works as advertised/hyped...some one will have a heat and leak it out here on CB...

not sure of the legality of their work, its obviously a stolen OS 6 file...so why pay for stolen goods?

anyways, if a VIP was to upload this thing somewhere...not a darn thing driphter.com could do, especially if they use a alias from what they have have at the forums there...

any VIPs care to join this discussion?

They either got their hands on an OS from the slider or clam shell or had someone exract the cods off the device using javaloader (or front end like bbsak). I'd bet the base OS is still 5.0 and they've just replaced some of the files.

agreed...marketing, trying to get peeps to pay for their overpriced "VIP"...then, oops! its still 5.0! lol

I'm not familiar with that site, but directly or indirectly charging people money for "hybrids" or OSs is just asking for trouble IMHO. And if they weren't on RIM legals radar before I'm sure they are now.

I am upgrading my 9700 with tmobile right now! to the 732/.743/.758/6.0.0.31 build which is supposed to be a OS6 hybrid. We will see what its like.. It seems to be OS 5.0.0.743 with some of the OS6 files from the blackberry clamshell. I am excited and I hope it works well.. I just switched to the my touch slide after 6 years with blackberry and its a really good phone but miss my blackberry and will be switching back with in a week but this might make me switch back to blackberry today.

Hmmm. Selling RIM's software as a value added product, eh?

As Shao says, RIM will surely be pleased by that little effort. In fact I bet they will soon write to them with a Cease and Desist letter that begins

    Dear Sirs,

    Unless .......
