I'm sure that this has been posted somewhere on the site, but I can't seem to find it. I have a Curve 8330 with Verizon and am currently running 4.5 OS (I believe) I was wondering if any of you could please point me in a direction where I can download the 5.0 OS for my Blackberry. Thanks so much in advance for your help!
Boost Mobile released 5.0 for the 8330, but NOT for the 8330m. (find out which you have in options -> about).
The tutorials section here tells how to load another carriers OS.
The stock 5.0.0.230 OS is just too big and bloated, you will end up with about 12MB of file free memory after you load it on your BB. The Nathanix team has worked hard to optimize and trim the fat off the 5.0 OS.

Verizon only sells 8330 devices. Even if they have an MEID number, they are still designated as an 8330, like the ESN models.

Didn't know that, that's awesome for Verizon people
Means us 8330m owners are even more sol than I thought lol. Oh well, hopefully the bold will drop closer to $100 soon and I can get one

For either of these the one nsih422 or you are talking about... have you used them? If I do go off the "official" blackberry stuff I want to make sure its not going to ruin or fry my blackberry for downloading it to it.
I picked up 5.0.0.438 for my VERIZON 8330 from BOOST MOBILE (they officially released)
I then went to BBHybrids (BBHybrids Forums - BBHybrids - Home) and got the newest hybrid that was posted. I have been running 5.0.0.451 since release (4+ months?) and have no problems. App Memory is better, and with OS 5.0 you get threaded SMS and such.
I haven't had any problems and she's [the phone] running fine...
My guess would be that verizon will never release 5.0 for the 8330 just like they never released 4.5 for the 8703 and you had to use the sprint version if you wanted to upgrade.
