Although it's not an official Verizon release I'm happy with the performance with 5.0.0.419. Just delete the vendor file if you want install this version.

For me personally it was .419 with the full .484 java folder from the 9500. Both versions were official and work great together. The .419 platform (4.2.0.179) has some scrolling issues with SMS and in the contacts list (it's a little jumpy) but overall had great memory management and response.
I'm currently on Lyr's .748 hybrid with the .419 PL and it's performing well, but I think I'd recommend 5.0.0.484/4.2.0.179 over anything I've used thus far.
.419 has some minor bugs in the sms and menus, but has good battery life and memory management. The .591 has better signal strength, but that costs you battery life. There are also many hybrids available for each.
Am I the only one experiencing volume issues with .591? I've been running it since it was released and have found that the phone volume is noticeably diminished.
I 2nd the .591. I'm more then willing to trade the battery life and bbm issues for the best signal strength I've ever had.
I brief search of the forum will yield that .591 link readily.

ive used both and have not noticed any difference in reception. I am able to recieve nearly full bars with 3G coverage with both os. Plus how would you measure reception as better. unless ur at like 0 or 1 bar constantly with .419 and at full bars with .591 in the same area. But i highly doubt it is that night and day. Meaning reception is very minimal increase if at all. Only real noticeable difference is the battery life between .591 and .419 in which .591 sucks.
