So this morning I picked up my 8900 and all of a sudden there is not sound from the device. No sound when getting calls text messages or playing music ect. It works with headphones and i hear people when talking on a call through the earpiece. The only thing that seems to work is in music player there is an option to play from handset and that lets the music play out loud but it doesn't sound good and is very low. i have no clue how this happened and i did a battery pull and tried a few different os. what do you think and please help!!!! thanks

what os was it running before the morning?

i was running 5.0.0.610
then i ipgraded to the newest one in the forum. then i wiped it and downgraded to 4.6 and then i wiped again and upgraded to 5.0.0.610 again. still nothing and now im totally lost. i do not even know if the speaker can be replaced. please help

would a new backplate fix the speaker since the it has a new one?

I had the same problem...the device had to be replaced.

i would get it replaced, but i don't have a warranty on it anymore. hopefully the new midplate will fix it.

Hopefully it will. If not, try Reloading the OS

yea hopefully. i have tried 4 different ones. one including the official from AT&T 4.6. then i tried 5.0.0.610 and 5.0.0.681. none fixed it. i just hope that the shipping from cnn.cn from hong kong doesnt take that long.
