I am switching to VZW , been trying to wait till 9650 came out but I would like to switch before june so I can't decide if I want to get the 9630 or try and wait it out for the 9650. Any suggestions?

do NOT get the Tour. The trackball problems on that phone are out of the world, and the OS thats on the phone as of now isn't that great on that phone.

The Bold fixes everything the Tour had issues with. The Bold 9650 is now the top Blackberry currently being sold anywhere, so obviously I would wait a week or 2 so you can get your hands on the Bold.

Unless you want to go through the hasel of Buying the Tour and then returning it for the Bold once it comes out in less then 30 days, but I wouldnt do that

I'm sure mjbesen meant the 9650 is the top CDMA Blackberry currently being sold as the 9700 is the top GSM. Glad that's clarified. ;-)

I would def wait for the 9650. if you MUST switch before June get the 9630 by the end of the month and just exchange it for the 9650. Hopefully it gets released within the 30 day trial period

well I couldn't wait. I used my internet upgrade line to get the curve 8530 It is suiting me fine. 3 Tours no thanks to that horrible trackball and the new OS was really bad as well. I had downgraded to the 4.7 I will get the new one next March

Wait for the Bold 9650! I think if you went with the Tour now, you would regret it, since that is a decision that you would probably have to live with for a couple of years. There are strong indications that the 9650 will be out within a week or two, so I'd suggest waiting.

I didnt realize how much smaller the 9700 is compared to the 9650. I just compared the 2 yesterday and I like the 9650 look and size way better JMO

I've had the original 9630 tour since it came out. I use blackberry a lot for business/emails...a couple of hrs ago I went into my local sprint store and got me the bold 9650. I love the trackpad and the keyboard feels so much much better. They feel very "bold" like LoL it was a tuff decision...but I couldn't see myself getting the EVO and having to send many txts/emails/etc from a touchscreen...I love my blackberry =]

Did you own a tour? I do and it doesn't suck. It does everything I need and more. No problems with mine since Nov.

Just because some people have had problems doesn't mean everyone does and it sucks, if that was the case everything anyone buys sucks.

Thanks for all your advice everyone , just fyi I have thought of going to sprint but I've had some friends who had it and went to vzw due to better coverages with vzw but thanks for giving that option to me I'm going to try and stick it out and wait till 9650 gets here .... Whenever that is hahaha

I own both the Tour and 9700, although I got used to the smaller size of the 9700, I have to admit that the Tour/9650 size is really nice, its actually the perfect size between the 9000 and 9700.

do they live in the same area as you. how do you know for sure about there coverage? Sprint is offering 30 days to try them out for free, no obligation no charges nothing. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE. Get the bold 9650 from sprint now while its available and try them for 30 days, i think your opinion will change.

You may find it really small at first , but you do get used to it real quick. The reason I got the 9700 was the trackball/signal issues with the Tour. Also the fact that my carrier (Bell) launched their hspa network months after I got the Tour, I just had to try it (hspa) and don't regret it. I would definately trade the Tour for the 9650 if I didn't have the 9700 but I have to say that in my area, hspa is so much better (reception wise and data speeds) that I'm not going back to cdma.

To the OP , you're doing a good thing going for the 9650 instead. Trackpad and wifi is a must have.
