So I just got off the phone with my TMO business rep (trying to sell me some additional services...which I didn't want) and he mentioned that they'd be getting a new Blackberry in August. I asked what exactly - and he said - "It's a new touchscreen" - said he pulled up his marketing material and it was called a 9800 Bold.

I dunno how much stock I put into this, but he's never lied (or even provided bad information really)...just thought it was worth passing along.

I honestly hope this is false. The Slider is almost as ugly as the Clamshell.

Holy crap, that thing IS ugly. ROFLMAO! If I had a 9700 I would definitely keep it and not upgrade to the 9800.

The 9800 is going to be an AT&T exclusive. How long the exclusivity is, no word has been released.

    Um...maybe because T-Mobile is a GSM network?
Exactly. So why should they not get a new GSM phone for their GSM network?

I don't understand why people wouldn't want this to come to t-mobile???? Its not like you have to buy it. In fact you should hope it comes to your carrier. The more business your carrier does, the better it will be for you in the long run.

In any case, I hope its true even though all the reports state otherwise.

I should have just said having more phones to choose from, will not hurt your carrier, so who cares if they get it.

With the notable exception with the iPhone, AT&T's phone exclusivity usually lasts 3 months...
