I usually have my ***** in my hand at the same time so twisting might hurt.

Google Maps as of version 4.0.1 lacks rotating maps.

It's not a magnetic compass. If you stop moving, the map will point in random directions, but as long as you are moving, the GPS can determine your direction and rotate the map accordingly. BBMaps has always had that feature. It baffles me that Google Maps still doesn't.
