As the typical 9700 owners have, I am also another one who has been running into multiple problems using the t-mo stock .330. Should I go ahead and update to a higher OS or do I need to wait? I was hoping for an OTA update tomorrow but t-mo crushed my dreams as they usually do. The majority of problems that I experience are the horrendous sms bugs.

Sometimes I cant even open up the message.

I would have to go to send a text then I could read the message that way.

Any opinions on what OS I should use would be great.

    Thanks

Why stop at .586??? Why not .593... .593 is a very solid OS... never saw one problem when I was running it.

T-Mobile's Official Build of .586 comes out tomorrow OTA. Why don't you wait another 12-14 hours? lol

I'm with Fatty, I'm running .593 and it's been trouble free. I think my battery life has been better with it.

    ^^^ I'm with these 2

.586 battery life and radio were terrible for me compared to .593 and .656

I'm running .656 with no issues whatsoever

.656 has been my best OS so far. Good radio, good battery. You can find .656 in the BetaOS section of this forum.

I'd say do it. Upgrade to a new os and if u don't like it simply downgrade and then update it when the official tmo 586 comes out.

I've been running .593 for a few days now (from .405) and find it to be nice and stable.

Well, I wanted to wait for TMO but after this delay, I just decided to do this myself.

I'm at work and it took me about 45-60 min total time. I've never done an update on my own so I was a little concerned but everything went through smoothly.

BTW, I was still on .330 so now I'm at .593

I upgraded to .696 last night but I will take a few days and post my thoughts about it. So far, it seems as if everything loads quicker including the browser. Ill check out the sms as I go throughout the day.

Thanks for all of the help!!

I'm running .586 on Voda in the UK. When i go through DM it says no updates are available. Is this because .586 is the latest Voda have? or do i have to do something else to get it? Is it anything to do with Voda?

    So many questions!!

Thanks in advance for helpful advice/comments

Forget the Wireless Update option, as Vodafone doesn't support that feature.
Just plug your phone into your PC via USB, click on the Check For Updates tab here, and you'll get .586

Im on AT&T service in the US first off. .586 was not a good build for me, personally i felt my battery life lacked and my wifi was spotty at best. .593 was totally solid, only had the ever present SMS lock up from time to time. On .656 I have no major issues, Im pretty sure the area I work in is the reason i switch back to EDGE from time to time and for some odd reason after a reboot I have 20 mb of used memory and after a few days (using memory cleaner and booster , and berryjoose (is that overkill?) Ill be up too 25 or 20 mb of used memory. I didnt have that "issue" with .593
