    my battery died and now it just keeps showing the red led light then shutting off?

    Yup. That's what it does. Mine was doing exactly that thing this weekend. Battery won't take a charge. My cycle is red light -> Battery Icon -> Reboot --> back to red light and repeat!

    My 8900 was doing the same and my Carrier does replace them, no chance to backup, I did lost all data :-(

    Take the microSD card out!

    This happened to a friend of mine; he event got a replacement device and the problems was there until he pulled the card.
