I'm on my 7th S1 now and am having a new problem (shocking, I know). I live in FL and we just had our first few really humid and hot days. My phone is seriously overheating when I'm outside now. Using meterberry, it shows my battery temp getting as high as 107 degrees and my hourly discharge rate jumping as high as 15%. This is all new since the heat and only happens when I'm outside. The touchscreen also seems to respond incorrectly. Any thoughts on this?

I haven't loaded any new apps and am running 328.

thats what i was thinking about the battery draining because of the heat. Yesterday i was on my way to the casino and i had my storm out on my lap and the sun was hitting it. Not even halfway to the casino my battery was at 90% within a matter of 30 minutes it lost 10% battery. Its not like i was doing major browsing or anything.

When I was on my Storm #1, I was visiting Florida last summer and it was about 100 degrees with insane humidity, and as soon as I walked outside it was completely useless. After complaining at 3 different verizon stores around the country, I convinced them to give me a new one. I am on my Storm #4 now, and it works phenomenally better than my first, but I have not been in super humid weather, and when I had my first one, it was still on OS 4, which was probably half of the nightmare.

Maximum operating temperature for a BB appears to be about 122 Fahrenheit. Keep in mind that direct exposure to the sun will greatly increase the temperature of the device.

I have not had any problems with mine, even in the hot Arizona temps. I suspect it may be the combination of heat and humidity. You know Arizona is a "dry heat".

I do not leave it sitting in the direct sun, because as explained in an earlier post, that would dramatically increase the internal temp of the device.

I had the envtouch prior to going with BB I read in the manual to protect it against the sun and humidity........and also rain. Touchscreens can be sensitive.
But it makes sense to be careful with the weather conditions. I also live in AZ and it gets very hot here. I am careful to keep my phone away from sun exposure. I have had a cell since ....... don't want to say. . Let's just say a LONG time ha !
    need to watch the weather......

Ever notice how your glasses fog up when you're out in the heat and humidity and then walk inside to a cool room.that's what my phone does and the screen acts all crazy.it lasts 5-10 minutes and then its fine again
