For those that use custom roms and have the Nexus One or Droid!

    • Merged AOSP from Google as of 3/31/2010
    • Ability to move installed applications between internal storage and SD (from Chris Soyars)
    • Added libncurses, lsof, irssi, htop, bash, nano and powertop.
    • Added option to disable USB Debugging notification.
    • 5 column launcher drawer (from Kmobs and ChrisSoyars) - can be switched back to 4 column in Spare Parts
    • Animated GIF support in the browser (info from Google)
    • Updated translations from Eug89, RedVirus, and ThiasB
    • Yahoo mail can be used over wifi (from Invader@AllDroid)
    • Kernel is now built from source and installed properly by the Android build system (from Android-X86, tweaked by Wes Garner and Chris Soyars)
    • New camera features (antibanding, focus mode, jpeg quality) from CodeAurora
    • Battery percentage meter fix from ChainsDD
    • Fixed some bugs in Dropbear and added dropbear-keygen to generate host keys
    • New ARM NEON optimizations for Bionic from ARM and 0xlab (0xLab - Jim Huang)
    • Audio gain tweaks from Pershoot
    • Kernel 2.6.33.2
    • Launcher can auto-orientate now (enable in Spare Parts) - not really all that pretty but it works
    • Fix the Google backup transport. If you are doing a no-wipe install, run "bmgr transport com.google.android.backup/.BackupTransportService" in a shell to get it enabled.
    • More bugfixes from AOSP contributers (Gerrit Code Review)
    • Sexied up Nexus LWP from WootRoot and jeagoss with more colors, background, and trackball lighting
    • Added wireless-tools (iwconfig and friends) to the build
    • Reverted bcm4329 wifi driver to older version
    • Added option to set a system-wide http proxy server (this should really be a per-ssid setting though)
    • Allow Bluetooth in airplane mode (needs settings db update if installing w/o wipe)
    • Added some sounds back
    • Added trackball-unlock option from Kmobs (this conflicts with the music skip option)
    • Fix for the red/pink camera tint bug!! (from HTC/Google)
    • Number keys work on the vk in the Terminal app again (from Jack Palevich's Google Code project)
    • Added 5-minute screen timeout option
    • Potential fixes in build.prop to improve 3G speed on N1 - YMMV.

This is the changelog for cyanogen. Koush's port for the Droid is different, although very similar. Some of these tweaks are not included/some were included in previous versions.

Correct; the reason I posted a link to the article. If you use cyanogen, you already know it's a changelog.

Nice. I'm going to load Jrummy's v0.6 remix based on this. Unfortunately, the download links aren't working and it isn't on rom manager yet.

Just installed this ROM but the Android market isn't on it. What happened?

you need to install the google apps. Download the file from gapps-passion-EPE54B-signed.zip. Place it at the root of your sd card, reboot into recovery, select install zip from sdcard and choose the gapps.zip. When you reboot, you'll have the gmail, market and other standard google apps.

Yeah I got that done a while ago. Thanks.

    1 question.

I wanna install an overclock kernel, Chevy's 1.2GHz to be exact. How do I go about installing it on my Droid? And do I have to rename it to update.zip or just leave it as is?

Also, I'm noticing that this ROM is a little sluggish compared to the official 2.1 update I was running.

Do you think it's because of my Advance Task Killer app or just the ROM itself? I wasn't experiencing any sluggishness on the stock OS.

Make sure you guys check your rom managers, 5.0.6.1 was released shortly after 5.0.6.

Did they actually make any changes to .1 other than being able to install it without breaking wifi on older kernels?

FYI... if you want to run Kspec on this ROM, the morph lite and kustom are both working and stable.

If I can just get Chevy's OC kernel to work, I will be happy.

I'm using the Bekit lv 1GHz kernel with CM 5.0.6 and it runs a lot smoother than any of the Bugless Beast versions I tried.

Yeah before you posted that I just headed over to the CM site and downloaded the 1.2GHz kernel and now it works.

Chevy's kernels aren't compatible with CM.

By the way, how is battery life on that one? With BB, I could still come home with 40% juice after moderate-heavy use on Chevy's 1.2GHz kernel.

I haven't really noticed a difference in battery life coming from BB with AdamZ's LV 1GHz kernel vs CM with the Bekit LV 1GHz. I usually have about 30-40% when I put it on the charger around 9PM after about 14hrs of moderate usage.

Not bad. I'll probably stay at 1GHz then.

This rom has been a lot more stable than the BB roms. I liked them but I got to where I was getting lockups. I have not themed this one but I like it very much!

    What's the difference between 5062 and 5061. I'm on 5061.

The main thing for me is that it seems to work better with Helix2, screen transitions seem quicker too. Haven't had any force closes either.

I haven't experienced any issues with 5061 but I might just install 5062 since I have nothing else to do.

That's the biggest difference between android and blackberry. It only takes around 3 minutes to upgrade the OS. I love it.
