Get a hybrid OS. That's probably the best way to do it. Head over to driphter.com or bbhybrids.net. They have many hybrids to choose from on both sites.

Nothing is going to magically turn a terrible browser into a good one. Hybrids help, but don't expect some big change

Native browser is lightning fast for me. I'm running .484 and I'm with Sprint

Try opera mini, that beats the stock browser. Or try bolt. They're both very good browsers if you don't like the stock one

Sprint is faster than VZW, no doubt. I havent seen a verizon device go over 500kbps here in Denver.

If I install Opera will I have both installed so that I can run either one as I wish?

Yes...absolutely. Opera Mini is pretty good though, I'll doubt you'd end up using the native browser often.
