    Hey,

Everyone has been clobbering the forums up with .519/.419 hybrid posts. There has come a need for the realization that .484 is a great OS. Currently I'm using 497/545 hybrid build from mrbracht on bbhybrids. It runs really nicely but I don't see it for download anymore for some reason. So what hybrids are you guys using with your .484 to maximize efficiency?

    Edit:
I have uploaded the hybrid build to rapidshare
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

Replace Java folder from .484 with the one provided in the above download.

Bumping this one. IMO .484 is the best radio; I had more luck with it than .419 which is saying a lot. Maybe others have had different luck, but I'd really like to see a solid .484 hybrid with some .604 and .607 files

Either that or a .519 hybrid that fixes the ptt and tries to minimize browser click issues (yeah, like that will ever happen). I'm surprised Verizon didn't turn around immediately, apologize for their release of .419 and make some reparations....

Verizon did not release .419. It was leaked... They released .591 and doubt they will apologize for that crap build..

Unfortunately, I had problems with .419 (dv 8.2 and previous hybrids and non-hybrid) text messages were NOT receiving, but I would get the sound and flashing light I knew they were coming in but I couldn't see them. Also, having to manually push service books wasn't uncommon.

So .484 is the only alternative for me. I still haven't seen any driphter hybrid revolved around the .484 core files. .484 does have the best reputation according to the "best OS" poll. (Helllo??!) I know people want the latest and not-so-greatest when it comes to hybrids. But I want something that works and has the tweaks a good OS deserves. Hopefully we can get a new OS that works good (not .519) so we can eventually get some quality hybrids.

driphter has plenty of builds centered around a 484 radio and core files. His most recent being his DvClassic that included files as high as .607

Many people don't realize that even when you were "Installing over a .419 base" driphter's installer was swapping your radio out and you were actually running the .484 radio.....

I understand the concept of radio/core files. But I haven't seen a build specifically using the core files from .484 (usually called the base) from driphter. I believe his remarks when it came out was it was sluggish, mem leak, or the like and decided to not use it as a base for his hybrids.

For instance, if I use 8.2 with 484 radio the base for 8.2 was still revolving around .419 core.

Dv8.5 uses the .484 as a base install. Thats the only driphter hybrid I know of that does.

Does he have any that use 484 as the base os? Or just the radio?

I installed DV8.5 and used it for a week...my phone crashed once while on a phone call, the alerts would double play for text messages, battery life usage was 6-7%, so I wasn't satisfied.

I re-install mrbracht's last night and I have an average of .4% battery loss and I'm at 96%. I've been running off the charger since 8AM so its been around 6 hours with light use. I'm going to stick with this for now!

calisoldier, you should have tried reinstalling DM and reinstalling the base OS and hybrid application over it.

Ive run into similar issues where driphters hybrids run with horrible battery life and or signal. I knew something was wrong because I switch often to see which one I like best, But its a hit or miss sometimes with driphters hybrids, for me personally. Using the same hybrid, loaded two different times : yielded me one load with great battery life, one with not so great.

Wiped the computer and the device of all blackberry software then attempted a third time, and the battery life was much improved.

I still have not figured out why they can yield different performances even when using the same hybrid.
