I'm using the holster that my 9700 came with. Am I supposed to put the 9700 screen facing outward or toward me when I put the 9700 in the holster? Tia.

doesn't matter really, there are magnets on both sides, and they have the "trackpad slots" on both sides.

I don't have the holster but I think most people puts it into the holster with the screen facing towards you, but in the end it doesn't matter you can put it in either way.

Personal preference I suppose. But I put the screen towards my hip. I think it's a remnant from the 8310 and the trackball groove in the case. It's easy to pop it out, tilt it a bit and see what's on the screen instead of having to twist it around. It also keeps the headphone jack facing forward. And as I was just fiddling with it. The screen sleep magnet is on the clip side so you got that reason as well. It doesn't sleep right away when the screen is facing out.

Screen facing in...gives you better protection of the screen IMO.

I usually have it facing out, so I can see the LED light when it flashes. My boss always has his facing in though.

I used to keep my screen facing in but now I got a OTTERBOX so it reAlly doesn't matter lol

Screen in. On a very old phone, I had it in my pocket, ran into the corner of a table, and cracked my screen. A holster will provide additional protection, but it's still safer to go in.
