I tried it and was disappointed. Went from 30meg memory to 23meg after a battery pull. I downgraded to .509 and my memory returned.

Did you notice a difference between the two aside from the memory? Speed? features? bugs?

In my case speed was noticeably faster with .592--in initial startup time as well as browsing between sites, and found virtually no bugs. Even faster with willyboy6's hybrid (.592/.607 from Storm 2). I lost 5 MB in initial memory (50MB at startup compared to 55MB) but no biggie since I don't put 30 apps in my Berry.

Great! I will go ahead and download the new OS and try it out. I am really having a problem with the choppy calls on .509 and bluetooth issues I'm hoping .529 will fix some of those issues.

choppy calls on AT&T has definitely been fixed in this build, been on it a few days and not one choppy call.

I haven't gone to the .592 yet...but I did get the .554 - lots of probs with SMS, wouldn't "delete prior" without locking up the phone...when I would delete individually, all deleted SMS would come back once the phone was restarted! Downgraded to .509 - only issue I'm having is VERY choppy calls! Anyone know if the SMS issues in .554 and choppy calls in .509 have been fixed in the .592?

The bluetooth audio sync issues have been resolved with .554 and .592

4th day on .592 for me - coming from .509

    .509 was great
    .592 is even better

    SMS bugs fixed
    Bluetooth bugs fixed
    Choppy calls fixed
    Everything fast

Memory is just as good for me.

Nearing 4 days of uptime and I'm at 29MB free. I've only dropped 3MB in 3 days.

If you use this will it fix the sms bug that's going on with the 509? I've the 8520 and nitemare with the sms bug? Does the browser and email run ok or the same on 592? I've had no problems with this part on the 509 just the sms is freaking me out. Has anybody tried it on the 8520 yet? Please please advise as I'm half afraid to try It.

After the 1st day (and I use my Bold alot), I haven't really found any differences at all. Download of .592 was very simple. Had to re-arrange the icons, as expected.

3rd Party apps were reinstalled - just had to reset permissions, as expected.
Haven't noticed any increase in speed with browsing the web.
Memory is kind of weird...yesterday I was at 23.5....as of right now, (no new apps installed) I'm at 11.9.

Also thought I'd share, if anyone was frustrated with the previous versions change of the mute button...I think what a lot of people didn't realize, was that if you press it very quickly, it will still mute your music! If you press and hold, it will put you on standby or a "soft lock".

I still can't assign the Password lock to my left convenience key - and yes, I've enabled my password and have a little green guy icon (actually looks like the Motorola Droid guy!!!)

Hmmm...starting with 11.9 memory....I just deleted a theme that I don't use anymore, and now I'm showing 11.1 after reboot and battery pull!

Did you wipe your phone before you installed the new OS? If not I would try that first.

I'll try that...I was going to wipe the phone before the install, but my BBSAK suddenly stopped working! I'll go back and do that! Thanx.

I've tried it on a totally clean wipe and not copy of anything, yes browser is faster and no trackpad issue but the sms bug still has me, I've the 8520 and still plagued by the dreaded sms bug, can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong or am I looseing my mind?

Maybe I just never really paid much attention to my Memory before..But it's fluctuates like crazy all thru the day! I wiped and re-intalled. Started off 25.0 memory, then about half way thru the day (no new apps or anything), it went down to about 11.0! Did a battery pull, then back up to about 23...now, after work memory is at 16.5.

I typically close out of things once I'm done, instead of just hitting the end key to go to the home screen. I wonder if there's an app, like Task Manager on the Windows phones (eeeek! sorry, I said the "w" word!)...that is similar, that you see what programs are running in the background and shut them down. Guess that can be my search tonite!

I just went from .509 to .592 moday and I noticed that the net is faster also my memory is only down to 33.3 over 4 days with no reboot, no issues other than having to use the mute button to do a soft lock, also for what it's worth I wiped the phone clean before install, I had a co worker who installed this OS without wiping his Berry and it work poorly, bad memory leak and the battery went dead super fast like half a day.
