i have mine at 20, and its definitely dimmer than 100. however, i have auto dim backlight off. in bright light, the screen will boost to 100 to help view. under normal lighting conditions, its back to 20. are you sure you arent confusing the two?

Omg. You guys should get out of that dark cave and experience this beautiful sharp BRIGHT crispy screen!

I had mine set to 10 for the longest time, I was paranoid about the battery life getting drained with a bright setting. But I finally tried 60 , and u kno wut, da battery is still amazing! Try it out.

I always thought it would be the opposite for auto dim backlight. you said yours is set to off, and the screen adjust its self in bright and normal lighting? Hmm wouldn't On do that and Off leave the setting at 20 regardless of lighting?

got mine at around 50 with auto dim backlight on. Battery is great and obviously adjusts depending on the surroundings. I've got some friends that keep their screens at 100 and they dont really complain about the battery life. They say they charge their phones whenever they get a chance though, and their batteries never really come close to dying.

Keep mine at 100 all the time. This is a 9700 , not the 9000.

Mine's at 70 with a 30 sec timeout and no autodim. I also go outside the house during daylight.
