    What is the point of the bottom buttons being able to still click when the phone is locked? I've never really understood this..

    Best I can think of is so you can check the time and/or date.

    Still don't make any sense though, it's just as easy to push the "lock/standby" to achieve the same thing.

    i click the bottom buttons often to check the time. it might be lazy, but it saves me the extra step of having to relock the phone once checked. quick and efficient, it accomplishes my goal in one finger press.

    that said, i can't think of any other reason for those keys to press when locked; but it's not like they're constantly being bumped and killing my battery anyway.
